High Heels

Spring has sprung and southern hemisphere bloggers are happy campers and ready to embrace balmy warm days and sunshine in the months ahead.

Kind of puts a spring in our step!

So to celebrate spring I felt some frivolity was in order. To coin a term used by the lovely Faux Fuchsia my whippersnapper twentysomething daughter has an amazing shoe collection and heels are her pride and joy. Darling Daughter is artistic/creative and sees her shoe collection as works of Art. Studying and working in  fashion also feeds the love affair.
Now before anyone worries about her travelling the path of fallen arches and bunions, DD might wear heels once/twice a week when out and about with friends for the evening but pretty little flats are her mainstay.

These boots were made for walking...maybe not? DD sourced these off ebay purely for display and a giggle.

Love these red Tony Bianco booties. Big sigh from yours truly who can no longer wear high heels

DD is also a bargain hunter and found these for $20. Reduced from $200. Not bad

Vivienne Westwood. DD pounced on these in an adorable op shop in Tokyo.

Last but not least...mandatory footwear for any fashionista whippersnapper attending rock music festivals in the rain. Nothing but leopard print will do.

I know what you are thinking. Yes I worried myself silly when she discovered sky scrapper heels but young women these days have perfected the art of shazaying along without a care in the world.

Do you remember your first pair of heels? Were your parents horrified?!
xx

  1. These are amazing, what a collection. I hate to admit it but my faves are the last ones. I am sure I would need a pair of crutches to wear any of the others.

  2. Deb ~ these are just a few of dd's shoe collection and she delights in blaming me for her addiction because I like shoes too :)

  3. Hi Annie

    well heels.... Not for me
you see I'm about 5 10 already and in the big heels I look like a US women's basket ball member. Quite broad shoulders to go with it but a Victorias secret model I am not!

give me the ballet flats any-day and next year for winter I have promised myself those gorgeous and practical european wellies!

I can't remember the first pair of heels I wore out but I do remember a school dance around 15 years of age and thought I was very hot! You know the olivia newton john physical days! (and Zanadu... well don't get me started I'll break into song... still love it :))

  4. Today's shoes are amazing, and I can only look wistfully at these fantastical sky-high heels. These days I search out the prettiest flats - wearing heels is a rare event for me now (and painful, too). I could definitely embrace the leopard wellies, though :)
I do remember my first pairs of heels - I felt soooooooo grown up.

  5. Loulou ~ oh my yes I well remember Physical and our Livvy. Brings back memories of my aerobic phase complete with trendy leotard and headband. We won't go there!

Patricia ~ heels are a rarity for me as well, I'm down to two pairs. Flats are comfortable and todays styles are so pretty and versatile

  6. We are both lucky to have darling daughters!

Those first red boots look like sky scraper boots!
very 80's...Elton John used to wear some like those.

My choice runs from flats to kitten heels and yes those rainy day boots would work for me too.

  7. Hostess ~ the leopard print wellies are everyones favourite. When I was young the colours of choice in wellies was black, black or black
