Morning Tea and a Pretty Chair

Today a friend and I enjoyed a lovely morning at the WAC.
Coffee, tea and cakes in the retro cafe were consumed after wandering through the myriad of shops looking for treasures.

I purchased a sweet chair from Sandy's shop 'Paint me White'

I spied this telephone on my wanderings through the antique centre and remember when my parents bought one of these trendy (at the time) telephones when I was a child. I thought I had the grooviest parents!

And here is the quaint fold-up chair in the shade I'm loving right now. I placed it in my living room for now but do feel it is the perfect size and design to be situated anywhere in my home.

Much fun was had playing around with cushions and books and best of all it will be a versatile addition to my home.
Thanks Sandy, your wares are lovely and so very reasonably priced.

Isn't it fun bringing a new furniture addition into one's abode?

Frangipanis and Frizz

The frangipani tree is blooming and I'm ecstatic. Every garden should have a frangipani I say. Of course this edict only applies if one lives in the appropriate climate.
I have taken to grabbing a flower or two on the way to my car and shoving them in my 'do'. The fragrance is divine and my head smells delicious.

Apologies for the photo quality, I'm getting lazy and resorting to using the phone camera and the results are not always great (slaps self on hand).
The humidity in my region is woeful and my hair is struggling to maintain a semblance of order. Flyaway bits and frizz are commonplace.

Who knew taking self-portrait type photos of the back of one's head would be so difficult?
Are you in the habit of plucking a bloom from the garden and adorning your locks with said bloom like moi?

The heat can be brutal and I really should be wise to the fact that to purchase blooms and expect them to live in these conditions is ridiculous. These roses I snapped the day after purchase, the heat just knocked them for six!

How are you coping with weather conditions in your part of the world?

Hair Essentials

When travelling there are hair essentials that must be part of my kit. Tonight a quick check was in order to ensure I'm stocked up for final packing before we up, up and away to China.
The last two years I've been painstakingly growing my hair so I can stick it up in a ponytail or shove a clasp in an up do on those bad hair days.

I do not leave home without Argan oil, dry shampoo to get another day out of the blow dry and a bit of bling in the way of pretty clips.

Of course a leopard print hair band is an essential.

Would you believe I've had this comb (called an Afro comb back in the day) from when I started hairdressing   back in the seventies. Certainly got my moneys worth out of that purchase!
It's a major essential to drive through the bleached bits of my mane after shampooing.

So there you have it, the Red Roses and Crystal essential hair bits and bobs.
I'm not high maintenance.
Am I?
