Darhlink Eva

If you have followed this blog from the beginning you already know I hold a soft spot for Eva Gabor.
Truly I just love her to bits,
and I adore the character she plays in the series Green Acres.
Occasionally I catch repeats on television and although the show is terribly corny I still enjoy watching, purely to drool over Eva's/Lisa's fashionable wardrobe. Come to think of it, her character and I have several things in common.

First thing I do every morning is walk out onto my veranda and embrace the pure loveliness of my home amongst the trees and birds. Mind you in this shot Lisa is embracing a view of the New York city skyline but just work with me here please people.

I swan around in a similar bathrobe complete with full makeup, diamond earrings and impeccable hair. Doesn't everyone?

Lisa and I enjoy shopping excursions

Lisa and Oliver bought a decrepit old farmhouse and so did Mr red roses and I once upon a time.
Although we progressed further with our renovations than they managed over the life of the TV series.

Lisa and I share a fondness for leopard print. While leopard print furniture is her thing, I'm partial to leopard print scarves and cardigans.

Lisa adores children and is not always suitably attired to manage a brood of kiddies. I can't quite remember dressing this fabulously at home while caring for my babies but I like to think I might have.
At least once.

Oh and I do appreciate an up do like Lisa.

Is there a TV character you like to imagine you identify with?

Stuff

Well Hello everyone.
I've been missing in action this past week due to Stuff.
You know what I mean folks?
Stuff beyond your control.
Stuff that makes you cross.

So I needed to exert some organisational energy and decided to set about sorting out my laundry and happily tossing this and that. Such as old shoe polish we've kept for fifteen years and haven't used in fourteen.

Do you like this quirky container I nabbed for the storage of washing powder?

Of course this little beauty is going to make all the difference to my enjoyment of wash days!

Isn't it sweet          Isn't she sweet

And I'm throwing in a picture of my idol, dahlink Eva just because I think she is Vunderful.

I wonder if Eva did her own laundry and had to deal with Stuff? If she did I bet she looked fabulicious at all times.

Take care Dahlinks.

Ballet flats and Eva

Today these little darlings accompanied me to visit my mother. They were cheap as chips and receive many compliments. Certainly not sturdy shoes to gad around in for hours but great for a little pick-me-up.

Stopped at the supermarket to hunt and gather ingredients for dinner and decided to walk around the block to check out the cut flowers at the fruit shop. Swooped on these beauties. Singapore orchids for $5 a bunch.  I thought that was very reasonable?

I sit with my mum and watch repeats of old classics like Green Acres and have a giggle. It's all dreadfully corny but I absolutely adore Eva/Lisa and watch it to see what she is wearing. Do you agree she was gorgeous? One day I have visions of cooking a meal and looking this superb while in the process.

I live in hope.

Part of the hunting/gathering exercise was buying Tasmanian salmon to bake. The above pic is not my culinary efforts but again I live in hope. Nowadays it seems to be all about the 'plating' of a dish which is fine and dandy but I'm just happy to get it on the plate.

What are you having for dinner?
