Dining Out and Celebrating
Our dining out experience the other night for darling daughter's birthday was lovely. The choice of restaurant was a casual Japanese eatery. Here are a few shots of dinner..
My little family can eat their body weight in Japanese delicacies
The only time I drink beer is when the temperature hits 34C here in Australia or I'm staying in Tokyo during summer. I tell you, in those conditions there is nothing so refreshing as an ice cold beer.
Don't pearls and beer make a nice combo?
Pity the pic is blurry, my sheath dress is the most delicious emerald green linen & cotton by Veronika Maine.
I love this photo I snapped from the back seat of the car...our daughter is driving. Our son is riding shotgun. The birthday girl was the only one who chose a non alcoholic beverage instead of two glasses of Hokkaido, so she drew the short straw to chauffeur us safely home.
The irony was not lost on her parents. How the tables have turned!
Home to our fairy lights runway after a truly wonderful evening celebrating another milestone.
I do believe Mr red roses and I are finally starting to relax after 24 years of parenthood. Our children are forging ahead with their careers and so we are breathing easier.

Looks like a fab night out! Pearls certainly class the beer up no end. I love an ice cold beer after a hot day of gardening. I sit out the front and water all the plants in, nursing a stubby. That's the bogan in me coming out, cause I live in an estate and all.
ReplyDeleteOh for the day mine are old enough to be my designated driver.
TDM xx
Oh TDM, must stock up on beer for my move to bogandom. I will be donning the pearls though... at all times. And A-Mi, you know how I feel about Japanese... you had me at the first picture.
ReplyDeleteA-M xx
Always great to be with our children, especially on birthday's or special occasions.

What a lovely night out with your family. The Japanese food looked fabulous. What is your favourite Japanese restaurant in Brisbane? Fifi
ReplyDeleteOh what a lovely night out and what a rite of passage for you hubs and your daughter having her play chauffeur for the night. My English is appalling in that sentence!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun night! The food looks soooo good! I love that green dress you wore - so pretty. The picture of your daughter driving home confused me and then I remembered where you live - I'm so used to seeing the steering wheel on the left, haha! =) So glad you had a wonderful night with your family.
ReplyDeleteThe supper looks delicious, I love tempura and sushi rolls!
ReplyDeleteAnd too funny about the birthday girl driving her parents home! lol
What a lovely birthday celebration - and a lovely daughter.
ReplyDeleteI am always partial to a green frock, especially with pearls. Just flew in from a weekend in Sydney, and as we walked to the gate I was stopped in my tracks by a window display of gorgeous emerald outfits. I feel a green dress coming on!
