Flowering and Pruning

Happiness is a flowering Agapanthus. Or at least for me as I've never grown them before which is rather daft considering I've lived in the perfect aggie growing climate for many years.
The blooms are not fantastic but they are showing potential!

When the heat ramps up for us southern hemisphere gals and my hair gives me the heebie jeebies I launch into it with my trusty old hairdressing scissors. Goodbye several inches. Now I feel lighter and cooler and if I regret this impetuous decision next week, no problem, hair grows. At least I left enough length to still manage an 'up do'.

Gee it's been hot in my neck of the woods today!

  1. You game woman, attacking yourself with the scissors! I love your aggies, they'll look beautiful in a tall vase! Have a great Sunday. x Jode

  2. Jodi.. not game at all, just a silly old ex-hairdresser who has mastered the art of turning herself inside out to snip her locks.

  3. Oh you are brave to cut your own hair...
I once tried to cut my bangs and they were so uneven I kept cutting and cutting to make them level and ended up with a fringe about 1 inch long...I looked ridiculous and let's just say my hairdresser was NOT amused!

Agapanthus are one of the plants in our garden that I want to have mass planting of...
    they are pure brilliance.

  5. Your Aggies have grown so quickly, and look lovely. I see lots of stems popping up in the background, and the beauty of this plant is every one bears a giant flower!
Oh to have the skills to cut one's own hair. Even my short do was too hot in yesterday's heat.
Hope today is a bit cooler.

  7. Those flowers are lovely and it's hard to imagine it being warm anywhere right now because it's cold and rainy here where I live. We're even expecting to get some snow tonight! Hope you're enjoying having a little less hair to heat you up though. =)
