The Art of Pottering About

Saturday morning is one of my favourite times to cruise through my home..pottering about.
I adore rearranging, sorting, plumping up cushions, flower arranging, admiring my surroundings and snapping photos.
I can spend an incredible amount of time pottering about my home and seeing the beauty in everyday things. Even a glance through a window screen from our upper storey to the blue sky and towering trees.

Might be classed as wasting time to some folk but I argue it is good for the soul.
Enjoy your weekend and spend time just pottering about, you will benefit .. I promise.

Annie xx

Screens are common in Australia for keeping out flies, mosquitoes, birds, snakes, lizards, spiders, beetles and any other pesky fauna which would like to invade a household.

  1. Hi Annie, lovely photos, and your house is so architecturally interesting. I love pottering about my place too; have been away a few days and it is lovely to be back here doing much the same thing as you! xxx

  3. Hi Annie, I have spent most of the day pottering around. I do my best pottering in my dressing gown.

  6. I am all for pottering around the house. Who wants to spend time rushing around everywhere and missing it all? I just love looking outside and watching the tree leaves become more yellow, orange, red. The best is when there's pops of red amongst the yellow leaves .... it's like I'm monitoring the progress of autumn! lol

You have such a beautiful home to potter around in, no wonder you enjoy it so much.

I dont re arrange my furniture. I like it where it is.. but i change my magazines and now and again add another flower or rose.. You are so right.. Its food for the Soul.. Its calming and comforting.
Wishing you a great Sunday Annie,

  12. Nothing like a bit of pottering. It's always funny what little corner or pockets of home are the ones that appeal most to us. There's an outlook through one window of our lounge that I just love, because it features a beautiful tree with mountains in the background. Everytime I try and photograph it though I notice the massive power lines in the way! I just don't see them when I look out there myself.
