London.
I love London to bits. Visiting England again one day is on my must do list. Our first trip there was in 1984 as a young married couple, hauling backpacks and staying in some rather cheap and less than salubrious accommodations.
In 2008 we had the pleasure of taking our two grown children to this magnificent country and gained much pleasure in showing them the wonders of London town.
A week was spent in a delightfully cosy Kensington flat during November (brrr it was getting chilly for this Queensland girl) and one morning as we were heading out for the day we spied this very cute black taxi which had been given a quirky and colourful make-over.
Did I mention I adore London?
Annie xx
Ps. I'm having oodles of fun with Instagram. Look on my sidebar to view my attempts at photography. Fun fun fun x
That's one very cute taxi :)
ReplyDeleteWe've never been to London but it is definetely on our list of places to visit. If only Europe wasn't so darn expensive :(

I know the flights cost a packet, but once you get here I think the cost of living these days is less than in Aussie cities, certainly that's what my husband has found doing business is Sydney and Perth recently. Come on down!
DeleteHi B, I think our dollar is probably not helping the travel plans of Aussies either.
DeleteI would love to get to London one day Annie, it looks so lovely and full of history. Your instagram pics look great. I still have not ventured into it yet but I am thinking I may have to as I am missing out. xx
ReplyDeleteI truly can't believe how much fun I'm having with Instagram Nellie. This medium is another form of social networking but using visuals rather than words. You will get hooked!
DeleteI used to live in London and I loved it. So much to see and do, it has everything - culture, history, art galleries, museums, great shopping, theatre.....oh, I'd go back in a heartbeat if I could.
ReplyDeleteOh I'm envious of anyone who has resided in London Sulky. Envious I tell you :))
DeleteLondon is a great City Annie, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI was last there in 2009. I visited often when my eldest son and daughter lived there. My eldest son Manel married here and went straight to work in the city.. they lived there for about 9 years ..My daughter met her husband in London.. now lives in Lucern switzerland.
I used to love visiting the old book shops, antiques and the fairs..portabello. Nina lived in Nottinghill.
Like you Annie, I think its about time for another visit. I would love to see the Queen's jubilee ceremony.. they look as though they will be fantastic.
So.. please let us travel with you some more. love the taxi. I am now going to see Instergram.. i have always wanted to know what it is.
best wishes..xx

I agree Val, time is ticking away so we should be planning our next trips. How thoroughly brilliant to have had the opportunity to visit London while family lived there. It must make a big difference to experience the city this way.
DeleteSo glad you love dear old London town - I always think it belongs to whoever is in it at any one time, so even if you're just visiting you're part of it. One of the things I really like about BBCs Sherlock is how gorgeous the city looks in it, and of course, its one game of 'been there!' I can play too! xxx
ReplyDeleteNow this is a very wise observation Mrs E and I do believe you are spot on!
DeleteLondon embraces all who visit. Of course I'm totally envious of you too, being able to pop down for a spot of shopping in Burberry.
#been there #suchfun :))
Love London too - I would love to go every year, but have only managed three trips so far, two when our daughter was living there. Such fun to do mother/daughter activites together, especially the great art galleries, and Shopping... That taxi is cute as a button - makes a very pretty picture!
ReplyDeleteMust have been heaven to visit you daughter and take in the delights of London together.
DeleteSuch a shame for us that it's a terribly long flight. Yes the taxi sort of stopped us in our tracks.
Another interesting wander. You've been to so many fab places. I'm afraid I could only share pics of trips to the local Woolies and medical centre.
ReplyDeleteTDM xx
Hey I've never been on a cruise like you have so you could share those pics with me.
DeleteI'd love to go back to London one day and I adore the black taxicabs. when I went to London with my parents in the mid 1990s, we had to take a taxi from the train to our hotel (by the airport) and Dad basically spent a fortune on a black taxicab because I wanted to ride in one so badly! I always appreciated his gesture! :)
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the desire to ride in a black taxi LR. There is something special about them and London cab drivers are very knowledgeable.
DeleteWhat a great Dad you have.
