Goodbye

Well it has been a long time between posts for me and an awful lot has happened in that time.
As many of you are aware from my last post our trip to New York was cancelled due to my mother becoming gravely ill after a lengthy illness.

My darling mother passed away last week. I will be forever grateful for staying home to spend her remaining days by her side. I admire her strength and courage more than I can possibly say.

I miss her so very very much.

Annie xx

I have just finished a post for today. and came over to you.
You have been in my thoughts and prayers.
My heart is with you today Annie.. There is nothing more devastating than loosing our dear beloved mother... I lost my mum at midnight 1999..she said she didnt want to go into this new millenium "thing".. I am so sorry for your loss. Only time will heal the hurt and she will always be with you.. you will remember all the wonderful times that you had together.
    I still miss my mum.
god bless Annie.. take care.. love and friendship

  5. It is a terribly hard time for you. I know you will have no regrets about making that choice to cancel. It is a great privilege and honour
to be of service to our parents in their greatest time of need, no one else can be as intimate and trusted as their own family. Only time will help with your great sorrow and sense of loss. It never goes away but you learn to deal with it better. xx

  9. Oh Annie .. My heart aches for you. With a father entering the final stages of dementia, I know his days are limited and I will soon be faced with the same issues you've been through.

One day at a time and allow yourself time to heal. I'm glad you prioritized time with her.

  14. Dear Annie, I read your post as soon as you posted it pretty much but just didn't know what to write. I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Mom 2 years ago now and it's still quite hard and I still have bad days but I think if you've had a mother you are close to, you are and have been very lucky because a lot of women don't experience that. I've just spent a day with my mother's best friend from boarding school. (They were good friends for over 55 years!) and it's just been lovely to have some gentle reminders of my mother's "subculture" (eg the shopping, the attitude!) again. I think also our mothers always live on really in us too. Please take lots of care of yourself during this time. Hugs, Mxxx

  15. Annie,

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I know this is an incredibly difficult time for you (and your family) and will be painful for a long time. My father passed away when I was 16 and even now it still feels like there is a void in our family. The loss of a family member is so intense and heartbreaking. My prayers are with you and your family.

    Love,
    Morgan
